KitchenSync (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the KitchenSync mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

Account Information
KitchenSync uses anonymous authentication — no email, phone number, or personal information is required to use the app. You may optionally provide a display name for household identification.

Household & Kitchen Data
Information you create within the app, including inventory items, shopping lists, recipes, store preferences, and household membership data.

Camera Access
Used for barcode scanning to identify products and manage your shopping list. Images are processed on-device and are not stored on our servers.

Local Device Storage
Certain data is stored locally on your device, including game progress, user preferences, and cached content, to improve performance and enable offline functionality.

Usage & Diagnostics
We may collect anonymous crash reports and basic performance diagnostics to improve app stability. This data cannot be used to identify individual users.

• Manage and sync household shopping lists, inventory, and recipes across devices
• Enable real-time household sharing between members
• Provide barcode-based product identification
• Deliver push notifications for price alerts (if enabled by the user)
• Power in-app mini-games and reward features
• Monitor app performance and fix bugs

Households are created and joined using unique codes or QR scanning. Shared household data (shopping lists, inventory, recipes) is visible to all members. Only share your household code with people you trust. The household admin can remove members at any time.

Households with no activity for 30 consecutive days may be automatically deleted, including all associated data. Users may leave a household at any time. Admins may remove members and their associated data.

We use the following third-party services to operate the app:

• Google Firebase — authentication, database hosting, and cloud functions
• Google Play Services — in-app purchases and app distribution

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

KitchenSync may display ads through third-party ad networks. These networks may collect anonymous device identifiers and usage data to serve relevant ads. No personally identifiable information is shared with advertisers.

Some retailer links within the app (e.g., Amazon, Walmart) may be affiliate links. We may earn a small commission on purchases made through these links at no additional cost to you.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted data transmission and secure cloud storage. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

KitchenSync is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us. You may disable notifications, camera access, and other permissions through your device settings.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the app and on our website. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
